Sholer Guitars are built with pride and passion, using Master Grade Hardwoods, Rosewood, Mahogany, or Koa wood Back and Sides, Adirondack Spruce or Sitka Spruce Tops with a choice of Wood Binding and Purfling, such as Ebony, Koa, Rosewood, and Maple, Honduras Mahogany necks with Ebony fingerboards and bridges, and real bone nuts and saddles .

The Making of a Sholer Guitar

Building our guitars, step-by-step

Follow along as Grant Niday watches his custom “Weissenborn” be born. (Click on image for details).

1. Bend the sides, glue end block and head stock.

2. Place in custom mold and prep for lining.

3. Install lining and side braces .

4. Custom Adirondack spruce bracing and secret bridge plate.

5. Using go bars to install back bracing.

6. Carve Custom back bracing.

7. Glue top and back to the sides. Just a few clamps

8. Clean up glue around the edges.

9. Remove clamps and mold. Prep for binding.

10. Installed Ebony binding. No plastic.

11. Applied lacquer finish.

12. Side view of neck at the headstock.

13. Inlay and Installed Gotoh 510 tuners.

14. Installed ebony bridge and strings.

15. Set up action. Bone nut and saddle.

16. Ebony bridge pins with blue abalone dots.
